Last night I popped along to the canape evening at the City Room in Leicester to join in the celebrations for the refurbishment of their entrance hallway. They have done some amazing work throughout the banqueting venue / boutique hotel. It really is a stunning, sophisticated venue for a City Centre wedding. Unfortunately I had organised a babysitter for the wrong night so could only pop in for a few minutes. Canapes and cocktails… and I had to get home!!
If you have not chosen somewhere for your wedding day yet, you really should check out The City Rooms . A grade 1 listed building, built in 1792 and beautifully restored and re-opened in 2006. The main ballroom is so breathtaking. And, because it is a completely independent, family run business, I think it makes this venue even more unique.
You really can’t go wrong having the Events Manager Vicky and her team helping you organise your special day. I regularly exhibit at their wedding fayre and the next one is taking place on Sunday 17th October 2010. There are other great wedding suppliers at the fayre including Belle Fleur who create the most amazing flowers and wedding cakes and regularly work with The City Rooms. Another supplier who I would recommend is Make Up By Mia Mia is often at the Wedding Fayre too and and she specialises in bridal, fashion and photographic make-up.

Sara and Nathan were married at the beautiful Kilworth House in the village of Kilworth, Leicestershire with their close family in attendance. What an emotional, fun wedding day. I really enjoyed photographing their special day and had the best fun getting shots of the children especially… This wedding really was all about the joining of two families and the ceremony really did bring a tear to my eye. Thank you to Sara, Nathan and your guests for making me feel so welcome. I look forward to keeping in touch with you in the coming years.

I received an email from Trudy and Martyn today with a testimonial, following their wedding day photography at Coombe Abbey in April… It really did make made my day!
“I cannot heap enough praise and admiration onto Lesley Bee of Artography. She is the most lovely person you could wish to meet and so full of fun that she helped to make our Wedding Day very special, ending up with some fabulous photographs. I hate having my photo taken but I don’t think that there is one photograph of me that Lesley has taken that I do not like.
She has an informal approach so after our ‘traditional’ poses we just ‘let her loose’ with the camera. We were not disappointed. She is a superb photographer. We would certainly recommend her to anyone wanting photographs of any kind taking. We will definitely use her again whenever we need some ‘official’ photos taking of our family”
Many Thanks
Trudy & Martyn Statham

The lovely Geoff Waters from ‘The Best of Hinckley’ came over to the studio for some head shots to use on his website, blog, twitter etc. I have had a listing with ‘The Best of Hinckley’ for a number of years now and Geoff is a real ‘champion’ of local businesses in the area. It is through Geoff that I have had a number of clients book for photo shoots and also became involved in the ‘Hinckly Business Awards’ in 2009, photographing the finalists and the actual event at The Sketchley Grange Hotel in Burbage.
I really do value the link that Artography has with this fantastic website ‘The Best of Hinckley’. Not only does Geoff actively promote businesses through ‘The Best of Hinckley’ website, he also works hard raising the profile of these small, local businesses via his Twitter pages, Facebook and various networking meetings he attends in the Leicestershire area. I am a big fan of Geoff and would recommend him to anyonelooking for ways to promote their business.
Many business professionals and businesses use headshots for their annual reports, advertising, company publications or websites, press releases etc. Head shots are really important in the business world and a lot of corporate employers are now asking their potential employees to provide a headshot when applying for a job.
The photo shoot took approx. 10-15 minutes and there are around 10-12 final images for Geoff to choose from for his business.
If you are looking for headshots for your business please contact Lesley Bee at Artography on 01455 233224.

Have you ever wanted to surprise your loved one with some beautiful intimate photographs that you know he will absolutely adore? I can photograph you in the comfort of your own home, using a mixture of natural and studio lighting, to create a set of beautiful, tasteful images that you both will treasure forever. I really believe that the images should leave ’a little to the imagination’. I had so much fun taking photographs of this lady in different areas of her home and I know she enjoyed it so much too. We bounced ideas off each other and had a real giggle in the process. And, the added bonus for her is that I am female and so she felt comfortable with me all the way through the photo shoot. What I wanted to create was a set of images for her that were tasteful and beautiful…
Please call me if you would like a similar photo shoot. 01455 233224. We can discuss your ideas and inspirations before booking in a mutually convenient date / time for the photo shoot.
