Today I walked into Hinckley Town Centre with my family to take a few shots of the Carnival parade as it weaved its way around the town. Thankfully the rain stayed away for the parade and the atmosphere was fantastic. However, as I type this the heavens have opened and it is very wet outside (I hope it didn’t spoil the entertainment on Clarendon Park playing field). It’s nice to get my long lens on and snap away, and of course capture the fun, vibrancy and energy of Carnival day. This years parade was absolutely fantastic and me and my family enjoyed watching all the floats and walking groups involved in the parade as they passed us on Regent Street. Hinckley Carnival Committee really do work so hard all year round for this event and every year it gets better and better. Next year is the 50th year for Hinckley Carnival. If you want to get involved you should contact Neil Turvey at Copyshop on Castle Street, Hinckley. I am sure it will be an even bigger and better event to celebrate the half century in 2011. Good luck to all involved.
Both the Hinckley Carnival Princess and Hinckley Carnival Queen won a studio photo shoot with Lesley Bee at Artography as one of their prizes for winning the competitions this year. I look forward to photographing both girls soon.
