Becky & Mark, Shearsby Bath, Leicestershire

What a scorcher of a day for Becky & Mark’s recent wedding at Shearsby Bath Leicestershire.  I had visited Shearsby Bath earlier in the year to take some pre wedding shots of the couple, but it was very much still winter and freezing cold.  It was really lovely to see the venue again in the summer, in full bloom and looking fantastic.  Preparations began at the Ullesthorpe Hotel with Becky and her bridesmaids, followed by a beautiful and emotive ceremony at Shearsby Bath.  Mark was definitely one of the most nervous grooms I have ever encountered – however his two best men were definitely there to support him all the way.

My biggest challenge of the day?  A little pageboy who was adamant he would not be photographed.  Needless to say, I wouldn’t be beaten and he appears in the final set of images quite a lot (although mostly shots taken with my zoom lens…).  Kids hey?

A few images of this amazing wedding day below. 01

The New Home for Lesley Bee at Artography is almost complete…

The fantastic Goddard building (or Atkins site as it is more affectionately known)  is soon to be the new home for Lesley Bee at Artography.  Situated in the centre of  Hinckley on Lower Bond Street,  the fantastic Grade 2 listed Goddard Building will become a central hub for ‘Creative Hinckley’    (check out the website for more information). Alongside work spaces, there is a contemporary exhibition / gallery space and a cafe bar.   Tall windows allow light to flood into the spaces and it has been sympathetically restored to embrace the original features along with a contemporary edge.  This site will also incorporate the new college building which is being constructed on the land to the rear of the site.  Check out some photographs below.

I am very excited to be moving into such a beautiful building and also to work alongside other creative people.  I am sure that it will be great fun…

Boudoir Photography – A Gift For Yourself or For The One You Love…

Lesley Bee at Artography  offers boudoir photography for every woman and a  photography session like this might just change the way you see yourself…   You may wish to book  this portrait experience  just for you to experience an opportunity to feel amazing.   However it is also the perfect  gift for the one you love.  Beautiful, sensual, discreet photography to show off  and celebrate your curves in the company of a female photographer.  This photography session was great fun and my aim is to create images that are discreet and elegant.    A couple of  brides have already booked this session as a unique wedding day gift for their husbands.     The shots featured here were taken at home, however I can also offer this photography session in the studio.  IMG_2760IMG_2784IMG_2528IMG_2607

Quote from the lady featured in these shots:  “I love my photographs so much.  I have never had my photographs taken professionally before and I want to do it all over again.”

James & Rebecca at the Guildhall Leicester

James and Rebecca were married at the Guildhall in Leicester on 12th June and I really enjoyed photographing their wedding, and the company of their family and friends.  I had only managed to meet up with James and Rebecca a couple of times as they live in the Netherlands.  We managed to meet up for a couple of quick wedding updates when they were home planning their big day.  The Guildhall in Leicester is a beautiful, historic building that dates back 600 years and the great hall itself was actually built in 1390.  To find out more about this beautiful venue click here .  Following their wedding ceremony it was then on to the Red House in Nether Broughton,  near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.  The Red House hosts an award winning restaurant, bar and  courtyard.  James and Rebecca had their wedding breakfast in the marquee in the garden and the weather was very kind to them.    A lovely, relaxed wedding with a charming couple who made me feel very welcome.  Thank you to James, Rebecca and your family and friends.zzzz IMG_8515IMG_8095 IMG_8287IMG_8690IMG_8520IMG_8534IMG_8583IMG_8706IMG_8161

Daisy May

Meet little Daisy May… what a sweetheart and a joy to photograph.  She slept all the way through her first photo shoot and didn’t cry once.   Totally adorable.   The absolute best time to photograph a newborn is when they are under two weeks old.  Obviously at this age they sleep a lot but it is such a precious time that should be captured on camera.  All of these images were taken in natural light, with just a little bounced flash at the baby’s home.  The white bed was a perfect  backdrop for taking these images and it did help that the room she was photographed in was really bright and airy.  If you would like your newborn photographed by Lesley Bee at Artography, please contact me on 01455 233224.  If you would like to see more baby photography both natural light and studio take a look at my website at www.portraitsbyartography.co.ukIMG_2234IMG_2101IMG_2130IMG_2157IMG_2083

4 Brides All Called Rebecca…

I am not sure why, but  I have already photographed 2 brides called Rebecca this year, and will be photographing another Rebecca at the end of this month at Shearsby Bath, Shearsby, Leicestershire.    The 4th  Rebecca in the photographs below is getting married to Chad at  Walton Hall  in Walton near Stratford-Upon-Avon in September.  It’s funny but it has only just dawned on me that  I have bookings from so many Rebeccas?

It was nice to catch up with Rebecca and Chad to discuss their wedding in more detail and take a few photographs of them at their chosen venue.   Walton Hall is a beautiful stately home and sits in 65 acres of countryside, just 7 miles away from Stratford-Upon-Avon.  It’s an amazing venue for a wedding and I look forward to getting some lovely images of the couple and their friends / family in and around the hotel.   These are  just a few shots of Rebecca and Chad taken shortly after our catch up to discuss their special day. ‘The Speech’ – Band Promo Images

I had great fun taking some shots of a local band ‘The Speech’ this week.   Formally known as Cascade they are back together after 20 years.  Covers include:  The Beatles, Kaiser Chiefs, U2, Stereophonics, Kings of Leon etc  You can check out their facebook page here.

The guys were laid back and very professional in front of the camera and I did my best to make the shoot relaxed and informal.   The band consists of Chad Reynold (lead vocal), Ash Woodward (guitar and backing vocals), Andy Stinton (Bass and backing vocals) and Kev Lennon (drums).   Record label:  We Wish Records.  Their next gig is at the Railway in Countesthorpe on Friday June 11th.

If you are a local band and would like some shots taken for your marketing and promotional material give me a call on 01455 233224.  All images are provided on a CD with full usage rights so that you are free to use them in all aspects of your marketing.  Location shoots are ideal.    I can also attend any local gig in and around Leicestershire to capture images of your band during a performance.IMG_7522 g t shoeIMG_7551bwIMG_7599IMG_7497bw

Hinckley Carnival Parade 6th June 2010

Today I walked into Hinckley Town Centre with my family to take a few shots of the Carnival parade as it weaved its way around the town.   Thankfully the rain stayed away for the parade and the atmosphere was fantastic. However, as I type this the heavens have opened and it is very wet outside (I hope it didn’t spoil the entertainment on Clarendon Park playing field).  It’s nice to get my long lens on and snap away, and of course capture the fun, vibrancy and energy of  Carnival day.  This years parade was absolutely fantastic and me and my family enjoyed watching all the floats and walking groups involved in the parade as they passed us on Regent Street.  Hinckley Carnival Committee really do work so hard all year round for this event and every  year it gets better and better.  Next year is the 50th year for  Hinckley Carnival.  If you want to get involved you should contact Neil Turvey at Copyshop on Castle Street, Hinckley.  I am sure it will be an even bigger and better event to celebrate the half century in 2011.  Good luck to all involved.

Both the Hinckley Carnival Princess and Hinckley Carnival Queen won a studio photo shoot with Lesley Bee at Artography as one of their prizes for winning the competitions this year.  I look forward to photographing both girls soon. b IMG_7264B IMG_7267B IMG_7249B IMG_7243 BLOGcarnival 5carnival 3carnival 4carnival 2carnival 1
