Another Photo Shoot in the Grounds of the Atkins Building

It’s so much more creative, walking around the Atkins Building taking photographs.  I get more inspired than in the confined space of my studio.  Although I photographed Victoria in the studio too, it was great to capture these images in the fresh air.  We had a relaxed, informal session, walking around the grounds of the Atkins Building, photographing Victoria using my 70-200mm zoom lens.  It’s much more informal when the lens is not too close to the subject…   If you would like to be photographed in natural light, using interesting features as backdrops for your photo shoot please call Lesley Bee on 01455 233224.  I can offer you a collection of images in both outside natural and studio light for your portfolio.    Please call or email for further information and prices.

A Beautiful Wedding at Hothorpe Hall, Theddingworth – Hayley & Jon

Hayley and Jon were married recently at the lovely, intimate venue Hothorpe Hall in Theddingworth, Leicestershire.  Hayley is quite quiet and shy but such an adorable bride to photograph.  Her bridesmaids were the complete opposite –  very outgoing and a bit mad, but a great support to Hayley on her wedding day.   The wedding ceremony was very emotional and it was interesting to hear from Hayley at their viewing recently, that she could hardly remember anything about the ceremony itself because she was so nervous and emotional.  Their ceremony was followed by a blessing in the chapel at Hothorpe Hall and then out into the beautiful gardens to take some more photographs.   If you would  like to enquire about wedding photography please call Lesley Bee on 01455 233224.

Make up by Mia.  Flowers were by Jilly Flowers, Hinckley who will be exhibiting at the Sketchley Grange Wedding Fayre on Sunday 25th September.   Artography will also be exhibiting at the fair, so please come along and say hello.  .  .

Natural Light Photography in and Around the Atkins Building Hinckley

I love my studio space at the Atkins Building.  It’s light, airy and contemporary and always makes an impact when clients visit…  I am also so delighted that the Atkins Building itself is the perfect space to take photographs using natural light.  The newly built Hinckley College right next door, also offers some interesting backdrops for portrait photography.  Take a look at some of these shots taken using natural light and the space around me.  It was nice to walk around the building and outside space to create these shots of this lovely boy.  Great fun.

Hinckley Carnival Queen Competition 2011

I had a lovely evening recently, photographing the Black Tie Event at Hinckley Football Club to select this years Hinckley Carnival Queen.  This is the 4th year I have sponsored this event by providing the Carnival Queen, along with the Carnival Princess and Prince with a studio photo shoot as a prize.  I am proud to be a resident of Hinckley and love to get involved in the community and work with local businesses.

The girls who entered the competition were great fun, very professional and clearly they were all enjoying themselves.  The  stunning bridal gowns and cocktail dresses, along with the beautiful make-up were all provided by Liney’s Brides, Hinckley.  Entertainment for the evening was provided by the lovely Rebecca Howsin and Shelby Dance Acadamy.  And as in previous years Scott Bailye was on hand to compere the evening.   The whole event was organised by Kev  Whelan from Bar Vis’a'Vis and Paul Moss from theHoliday Lounge.  It was great to have local sponsors on board including Eden Beauty, Tulips Flowers, The Plough Inn and The Kase Hotel.  The overall winner was Victoria Evans who won a fabulous holiday donated by the Holiday Lounge and a photo shoot provided by me!  Just a few images below:-

A Bit of Everything…

I’m a bit snowed under at the moment and trying my best to juggle school holidays with my photography.  So this update is a bit of a mix of some of my favourite photographs taken just recently.  Some of the shoots I am still working on…

Below is a selection of images taken of  families photographed on location at Stapleford Park Hotel, Leicestershire, some outside shots here at the Atkins Building and at Coombe Abbey and a few taken in the studio.   If you would like further information on family photoshoots either on location or at the studio please call Lesley Bee at Artography on 01455 233224.  You can also view other work on my website.  This time of year is just ideal for lifestyle, location photo shoots for families. Let the children run wild and have fun whilst being photographed.  Much more relaxed portraits and fresh air too… Perfect!

This little guy only knows 6th gear... great fun!

In Between Weddings, Location and Studio Portraits… a Little Family Time

A trip out for the Bee family this weekend and some family photography purely for my own pleasure…  During our walk, I took lots of fun ‘Bee Family’ shots of my hubby and girls Maisie and Lydia, and our cockapoo Ollie.  We had a lovely walk at Hartshill Hayes, a picnic and of course, ice cream.. Lovely!  There are lots more but I only had time to quickly pull together this composite of my dear family being very silly…. I love it.  It’s great to capture relationships in a family during a portrait photoshoot alongside the family shots.  If you would like further information on portraits photoshoots on location in Leicestershire or the midlands, or family  photoshoots in my studio, please call Lesley Bee on 01455 233224.  You can see some other work at www.portraitsbyartography.co.uk

Now I must get on with my real work…

Dance School Photography – Leicestershire

I had the pleasure of photographing some dainty little ballet dancers recently and it was a complete joy watching these little children during their ballet classes.  A real ‘tonic’.  This local dance school invites me along to photograph the children at show times in their fantastic costumes and also the dress rehearsals at the local theatre.    However, it was also great fun to watch the children during their dance lessons and to take more ‘candid’ shots.  Some of the little dancers were only 3 years old and it was clear to see they were having great fun.  For information on dance school photography, whether it be for show time, formal photography or candid photography during lessons please call Lesley Bee on 01455 233224.  You can view my website at www.portraitsbyartography.co.uk

Children’s Portraits on Location

Take a look at these lovely boys…   Would you prefer a location photo shoot of your family or children, away from the informality and confined space of the studio?  Location photography is the perfect way to let your children run around and have fun, whilst they are being photographed.  All of these images were taken using my zoom lens so I could photograph them from a distance and they could carry on having fun.   And the results?  Relaxed, informal photography of two little brothers spending time together.  For further information on children’s portraits on location, please contact Lesley Bee at Artography on 01455 233224.  I am  happy to meet you at your home or a favourite location to photograph your children.

Party Photo Shoots…

Ok… so here’s the deal.  A party photo shoot with your friends is an amazing way to celebrate your birthday.  But you don’t have to be celebrating a birthday,  it’s also perfect for  celebrating your friendship.  You may be moving to a new school, moving on to college or moving away.  So don’t delay… book a studio photo shoot with Lesley Bee at Artography TODAY.  You and your friends can visit the studio for a professional studio photo shoot and have the best fun ever.  Bring along your own props (anything goes), or use some of the props available here at the studio.  Feel free to also bring a change of outfit to create different looks at the shoot.    Take a look at the images below and check out all the smiley faces.  If you would like further information on party photo shoots please contact me on 01455 233224. www.portraitsbyartography.co.uk

Prom Ball Photography

So… just a few images from a recent school prom.   My 13 year old daughter  Maisie helped me with this job and she loved seeing all the fabulous outfits and hairstyles, modes of transport and general antics of this celebration.  In fact, I  needed to prod her every so often to let her know she was supposed to be helping me and I would have to lower her pay if she didn’t pay attention.    I am absolutely certain that these students are now enjoying the Summer and planning for their futures.    If you are looking for a photographer to cover your school prom ball in Leicestershire, Warwickshire or the Midlands,  give me a call on 01455 233224.   www.portraitsbyartography.co.uk

Check out the mobility scooters! Genius idea.

No expense spared for these students.
